The Friends of Saumarez Park Playground LBG's fund raising efforts for the new playground has received a boost of £5,000 from Lloyds Banking Group Community Fund.
The fund raising total now stands at just over £70,000 in donated or pledged funds.
'To be one of two winners from the whole Bournemouth region was fantastic' said chairman of the Friends of Saumarez Park Playground, Zef Eisenberg. 'We are very pleased to have been selected to receive the valuable £5,000 contribution to the Saumarez Park Playground. As the most used and well known playground in the island, the extra funds are a vital help towards our £500,000 goal of providing a completely revamped, new and exciting park for generations to come'
Lloyds TSB Offshore business development manager, Craig Duquemin said the playground would benefit the whole community 'Becoming the best Bank for customers means being the best bank for our communities. The group has 30 million customers and has a clear role to play in society helping communities thrive' he said. 'The Community Fund highlights the group's ongoing commitment to the communities we serve and doing more to help the British Isles prosper.
